In this week's outdoor column, I am going to feature a favorite spot of mine. That is the spring that Green Cove Springs in North East Florida is named for. This spring flows into a city pool, and then flows on into the Saint Johns River.

Yesterday, I had the priviledge of visiting a newly opened nature preserve in the Fort Caroline area of Jacksonville. This preserve, named the Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens, recently opened on November 15, 2008.
