The fifth ranked Syracuse Orange downed the tenth ranked Georgetown Hoyas, 75-51, to improve to 25-2 on the season and 12-2 in the Big East.

Syracuse survived a rally which almost saw Georgetown rally from a 23 point deficit, as Andy Rautins scored a season-high 26 points for the Orange.

Other games envolving top 25 teams saw #13 Gonzaga fall to Loyola Marymount by a score of 74-66. Wisconsin, ranked #14 also was an upset victim as the Minnesota Golden Gophers pulled a 68-52 stunner at home. In SEC play, #17 Vanderbilt edged Mississippi by a score of 82-78, and #19 Pittsburgh held of Marquette, 58-51.

In other games of note, Florida defeated Auburn, 78-70, in Gainesville to break a two game losing streak. UCLA, Stanford, USC and Oregon State were also winners on Thursday.
