Here is a breakdown of Saturday's action in the state of Florida. Florida State and Miami renewed their annual rivalry, and Florida faced a big game against Arkansas as they were looking to rebound from their stunning loss to Ole Miss last week. Here is a look as to what happened on Saturday.
Florida State and Miami battled to a thilling finish that saw the Seminoles come away with a 41-39 victory. Antone Smith rushed for four touchdowns in Dolphin Stadium. Miami's Travis Benjamin had three rushes, but he made his carries count as he rushed for 71 yards and scored a touchdown. The #12 Gators rebounded from last week's stunning Ole Miss loss by routing a hapless Arkansas Razorbacks team with a 38-7 rout. Tim Tebow was was 17 for 26 passing and amassed 217 yards and throwing for two touchdowns. Chris Rainey and Jeffrey Demps each rushed for 103 yards combining for three touchdowns. #10 South Florida hit a bump in their schedule as they were upset by the Pitt Panthers at home on Thursday. The score was 26-12. Florida International routed North Texas 42-10 and Florida Atlantic fell to Middle Tennessee State on Tuesday, 14-13, on a hail mary pass. |
