The Atlantic Coast Conference had five teams in action on New Years Eve, all finished 2008 in fine fashion as all won in routs.

The #1 North Carolina Tarheels remained unbeaten as they routed Nevada in Reno, NV on Wednesday night by a score of 84-61. Tyler Hansbrough led UNC with 22 points. Wayne Ellington added 15 points and Ty Lawson scored 11 points and recorded seven assists as the 'Heels improved to 13-0.

Fifth ranked Duke rolled in its game against Loyola(MD) in Cameron Indoor Stadium by a score of 92-51. Kyler Singler scored 20 points for the Blue Devils.

In other action, Boston College downed Sacred Heart by a score of 89-76, the Miami Hurricanes rolled at home against the UNF Ospreys by a score of 94-41, and the NC-State Wolfpack routed Towson by a score of 88-68.
